Langue anglaise et culture                Final Listening Comprehension Exam

Perfect Wedding

This is your last listening comprehension exam. Now, remember, your answers need to be written in an academic language.

Part 1 (between 150-250 words). You have to write a text, answering one of these questions. Don’t forget to write which question you are answering.

6. In relation to the questions that were asked, are you surprised by the answers? Why?

All the questions were interesting and had colossal and surprising answers. The one that fascinated me the most was when the actors talked about how long they had been doing plays in front of more than 100 people. I was listening to the answer, and some of the actors informed us that they had been doing it for so long and, honestly, it is understandable their acting was on point; even if they did not answer, i would still know that they did not start just now. When the other actors (Bill, Julie, Judy, and Rachel) answered, they said it was their first time being on stage with the public. I looked at them and thought it was impossible because their acting in the play was perfect. They were not nervous, did not laugh for no reason, and did not have a single moment of memory blank. Indeed, when the show started, i immediately thought these actors were doing plays since they were around ten years old. I was wrong, and it shocked me.

Part 2 (50 words)

What do you think of the play being used as part of your English course?

Students love it when they do tasks other than just writing in a book and listening to videos. Furthermore, the human brain learns languages better when they listen to them, not just by writing. A play need to be in every English course. It would help the student develop their academic language by listening to actors in front of them in real-time. This play was an excellent example of academic language. Listening to their speech helped me with my pronunciation and my vocabulary.

Part 3
