The Bloop ??

P oint Nemo i s a very mysterious place located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I t i s the most remote point on Earth f rom any landmass. The nearest coastlines are more than 2 , 600 k i lometers away. Because of this i solation, very few people ever v i s i t this area. Point Nemo i s also called the “ space graveyard” because many satellites and old space stations are sent there when they no longer function. Since no one l i ves nearby, this location i s considered safer for disposing of this space debris.

B ut recently, a strange rumor has begun circulating online. According to some reports, NOAA ( National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) equipment has detected unknown sounds coming f rom the depths of the ocean, near Point Nemo the 15 th may at 3 AM. Scientists have reportedly recorded very loud noises that do not resemble those of any known marine animal. This sound i s apparently s imilar to the famous “ bloop” detected in 1997 . “ The Bloop” i s the name given to a mysterious underwater sound that was recorded . They later discovered that this sound emanated f rom an iceberg cracking and breaking away f rom an

Antarctic glacier. They concluded that the spectral characteristics of the

Bloop are biologically consistent with the acoustic emissions of a very large l i v ing organism. I ts the i solation at Point Nemo would explain why i t has remained invisible to science until now. Also, this information has been verified by the team at the Valparaíso Oceanographic Institute.
