Work Placement

My name is Maxime and I’m a student in Perrimond. I’m twenty-one years old and I have lived in Marseille since I was born.

As a student, I have to achieve different periods of internship to be graduated.

I have chosen to work in a famous sport brand named ADIDAS. The shop is situated into the commercial center “Les Terrasses du Port” at the 2nd floor. It’s a little shop of two hundred forty square meters with 5 employee and 4 temps and we are 2 trainees.

The shop belongs to Adidas Group so it’s a limited responsibilities company.

I have had a lot of missions during my internship periods.  

Every morning, I was in charge of the delivery: first, I had to tidy the shoes at the right place in the stock. Then, I had to check the clothes: I took some clothes and I checked if they were missing on the garment rail. If they were missing, I prepared them, and if they didn’t, I had to put them in stock.

During the day I was in charge of different assignments like checking the missing clothes on the garment rails and do the replenishment, be present to advise the customers, clean the shop, or do some rearrangement in the stocks.

Like every company, Adidas has strengths and weaknesses.

Their principal strengths are the force and the magnitude of the group. Indeed, Adidas is a huge multinational implanted in a lot of countries.

For the weaknesses, Adidas is trying to become the leader of the market without success, and the cost of the products are sometimes high, due to the technologic innovations.

And like on every market, we can find some opportunities and threats.

For the main opportunities, we can count on a growing market and a huge notoriety based on famous sports teams especially in soccer.

The market is the main threat for the group because as we said before, the market is growing quickly so they’re a lot of competitors.

Talking about the competitor Adidas is positioning as Nike challenger (the leader on the market). Even if the group is working hard to reach the leading first place in the market but Nike is really too strong for now.

For the future, I want to study digital marketing in business school. I think about studying in Canada especially in Toronto or Vancouver because they’re English-speaking cities.

I think about that because I went to Toronto during summer break and I really loved the country, the people and the atmosphere.

Concerning my future job, I have in mind some company witch I would like to work in: Apple, Tesla, Space X or Blue Origin.

But I also love aeronautic and automobile (Formula 1) so if ever I have an occasion to get in aeronautic or Formula 1 company, I would certainly never refuse.
