Against homeschooling :

As people become more disenchanted with the current education system there has been a rise in the instances of parents deciding to homeschool their children. Indeed, the practice of homeschooling is becoming more and more popular in the United States, Canada and the Europe. While many parents think that sending their children to a higly selective school and public school or homeschooling are the only two way to sucess, quite a few  argue it will toll the knell of the traditional school. However, homeschooling knows a prize of criticisms.

The first point concerns the ability of parents to teach properly their children : Unless you have trained and hold qualifications as a teacher you will not be able to teach your children as efficiently as a trained professional teacher would. Parents seems to bite off more than one can chew, being sure they can do better than a profesionnal teacher. Indeed, every parents may not have enough pedagogical skills to ensures the complete education of their own children. Parents could not be able to Restrain anger and remain patient when children struggle with learning for example. Moreover, as nobody can  supervise homeschoolers, monitor the work done at home, we can't deny that there is a lack of supervising. As a matter of fact, too few authority checked the well being and the knowledge of homeschoolers and their children. (Excet  LEA (local education authority) wich checks wheter this education is suitable.

One of the other disadvantage of home school programs is that no matter how well designed they are they will not be a match for a nationally recognized school curriculum with examinations and accreditation. That's a big issue at a time when education is still the best way to equip yourself to thrive in a globalized world. Indeed, if you are not granted by a degree or graduated from a recognized school, you won't be competitive.

And last but not least, one of the more serious negative effects of homeschooling is that children can miss out on the opportunity to interact with other children. This can stunt their development socially as they do not learn how to communicate or behave in group settings.  This is obviously a vital skill in living and working as an adult. That experience can cut them off from their peers and reality .

To conclude, altough some argue that traditional school will disapear, as regards all the critics, homeschooling won't deal a heavy blow to traditional schools, and won't dispose of it. (417 words)
